Massage Therapist in The Greater Antelope Valley of California
My goal is to help those seeking pain relief, or general relaxation. Each treatment is customized just for you.
Here is a list of some of the services I have to offer, and a brief description of each. As we all have different bodies, different aches, and different pains: no two massages shall be the same. Each and every massage is custom tailored to suit your specific needs, no cookie cutter massages here.
Deep Tissue Massage is also called deep muscle therapy or deep tissue therapy. It is an umbrella term for bodywork systems that work deeply into the muscles and connective tissue to release chronic aches and pains. Although deep tissue massage is available, if you have recurring pains or a "stuck" feeling, myofascial release, or my sports massage technique may be the treatment for you.
Lymphatic Massage is a gentle method of promoting movement of lymph into and through the lymphatic vessels. The lymph system works as a waste removal transport system. When lymph nodes become clogged, the gentle lymphatic strokes help the fluid move freely once more. It reduces edema, a condition in which the tissues of the body contain an excessive amount of fluid. Lymphatic massage promotes cell regeneration and is great as an after surgery massage technique to reduce scarring and swelling that may occur. Instant results may be seen, but for more lasting effects, one should have at least 10 treatment sessions.
Myofascial Release - Myo means muscle and fascia is the elastic connective tissue wrapped around muscles and other parts of the body. During myofascial release restrictions (stuck areas) are located and gentle sliding pressure is applied in the direction of the restriction to stretch the tissues. The stretching of tissues and the heat imparted by the practitioner's hands are thought to help produce a softer consistency of fascial tissues. Sometimes, special tools may be used for a process called "combing". If you are curious about any techniques, call El Deana today!
Pregnancy Massage is the massage of pregnant women (prenatal) and women after giving birth (postpartum). It address the special needs of pregnant women such as discomforts in the low back, feet and legs. Pregnancy massage requires specialized training. The use of aromatherapy during pregnancy is safe, however there are some essences that are harmful to the baby during pregnancy. After your baby is born, El Deana can show you some bonding massage techniques that you can use with your child until they ask you to stop (my daughter still asks for her massages, and she is 10 now).
Sports Massage is applied to athletes to help them train and perform free of pain and injuries. Massage therapists blend classic Swedish strokes with such methods as compression, pressure-point therapy, cross-fiber friction, and joint mobilization to meet the special needs of high-level performers and fitness enthusiasts. Awakening techniques are used before an event to prepare the muscles for what is to come, and to help avoid injuries. Even when an accident may occur, gentle rehabilitative therapy can help the injury heal faster and safer than healing with no therapy. Sports massage may happen at your gym or field for teams of athletes. Ask about details.
Swedish Massage, is a scientific system of manipulations on the muscles and connective tissues of the body for the purpose of relaxation, rehabilitation or health maintenance. Swedish massage therapy is comprised of five basic strokes and their variations: effleurage, petrissage, friction, tapotement (or percussion) and vibration. Therapists use a variety of these strokes in a full body massage for general relaxation. If you are not certain which type of massage is right for you, Swedish is always a great start!
Please allow a few minutes prior to your first massage so we my discuss treatment options and health history. You may print and sign your forms prior to the appointment if you would like. Forms are available on the Client Forms page. If you are taking heart medications or have high blood pressure, I must receive a doctors consent prior to any treatment as massage may not be okay, and could reduce the effects of medications.
Each session time includes five minutes for initial consultation and undressing and conclude with five minutes for redressing and recommendations. For example, a 60 minute custom massage session will consist of five minutes for initial consultation and undressing, 60 minutes of a hands-on custom massage and five minutes for redressing and recommendations. That's right, if you ask for an hour massage, you get the whole hour of massage!
